Barriers is the 6th album released by The McSweeney Kings in 6 years.

Peter McSweeney introduces the album with title-track 'Barriers', and comes in later with love song 'I Wanna Know' and nostalgic 'Old School Friends'.

This year Simon McSweeney has written the uplifting, summery melodies 'Bella, The Beach and I' and 'Tournesol' (sunflower); as well as thoughtful 'Self-Created Town' and 'Outro (Days Like These)'. 'Dust' is the title track of Simon's new solo album (Simon's solo name - Low Rialto).

Andrew McSweeney has followed up last year's first ever songs, with slow but captivating 'They All Turned Away' and fast-paced, Spanish-sounding 'Diggin in the Dirt'.

For the first year Helen McSweeney has contributed two newly-written songs, inspired by her spiritual walk, 'A Journey' and 'I Will Wait for You'.

The album was recorded in two days in September 2017. Album production was done by the amazing Joe Davison (Auburn Jam).

Named in memory of their Grandparents, Jack and Sheila McSweeney nee King.
