No reply is the fourth McSweeney Kings album in four years. Whereas in the past, the songs were written by either Pete or Simon, this year, quite a few songs were jointly written, which made the whole process a lot more interesting, and more fun.

Another big factor in this year’s album was the time that Andrew had to explore the songs and develop a number of the guitar parts. This has really helped to add to the quality and the variety of the album.

Helen, Jackie and Lucy also joined us again in the studio to add some vocal variety to the album. And Lucy’s help with videoing a lot of the recording has meant that we have been able to put together a great little promotional video this year.

We recorded the album August 2015, once again with the help of Joe Davison at the Auburn Jam Studios. Year after year Joe amazes us with what he brings to the recording process, both in terms of the production, and in his positive approach to the recording sessions. Thank you so much Joe!
